May Mingle

Many of you will remember last year's inaugural Mingle where we introduced the beginnings of the Cambridge Chapter. This year's Mingle will connect Cambridge past, present and future - rediscover old friends, make new ones, and share some of your perspectives with prospective Cantabrigians! We will also be telling you more about the upcoming 800th Anniversary celebratory event later in the year, where the Commemorative Volume will be launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

  • Date 23rd May 2009
  • Time 4.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Venue To be confirmed upon registration (wine, and canapes will be served)

The event is free, but we seek a minimum pledge of $10 at the door, which will go towards the publishing costs of the Commmemorative Volume.

Registration will close on 14 May 09, and we can only accept 100 sign-ups, so sign up to confirm your attendance, and receive further details about the May Mingle! (Partners are welcome, but we cannot accommodate infants or children.)

Finally, it's going to be a big year ahead and we're looking for people keen to step-up for Cambridge, so please feel free to drop us a line if you wish to contribute in any way at all to the 800th Anniversary effort in Singapore. Edit

March Mingle

  • Date 15 March 2008
  • Time 4 to 6 pm
  • Venue The Residence of the British High Commissioner, Eden Hall, at 28 Nassim Road
  • Dress Code Smart Casual

Catch up with old friends from Cambridge days, meet new ones, and offer a glimpse of life at Cambridge to the cohort who have received offers to go up in Michaelmas 2008. This event also serves as an informal launch-cum-preview of the series of activities that Singapore-based Cantabs are organising in the run-up to the University's 800th Anniversary. Graciously hosted by the British High Commissioner to Singapore, Paul Madden - a Cambridge man himself.

This event is free of charge. Please register by signing up to our Mailing List, indicating "March Mingle" in the comments section. For security reasons we cannot admit guests who have not signed up with us in advance. Please do sign up early as we hope to do some pre-matching of alumni and offerees to facilitate the mingling. See you there!

Due to limited parking facilities at Eden Hall, please be advised to park at Tanglin Shopping Centre - a ten-minute walk away. Thank you!

Formal Hall

Formal halls are another unique Cambridge experience fondly remembered by alumni members. This event, complete with a three-course meal, appropriate garb (so dig out those college gowns now!), long dining tables, Latin grace and even stacks of pennies, seeks to be as closely reminiscent of college formal halls as possible.

This event is targeted at alumni of all ages, and will be priced above cost for fundraising purposes. More details to follow!
